So here it is, the final we
have all been dreaming of. Man United and Chelsea. We wouldn't
know which to team to predict would win this match and as
we support Torquay United, there is little chance of us ever
getting there. However at the Uzhniki Stadium in Moscow on
the 21st May 2008 there will be a game of football to go
down in the Annals of European Football.
There has been an all-Spanish final and an all-Italian final,
and now there will be an all-English final of the great tournament.
Manchester United's victory over Barcelona on ensured
that the only clubs booking flights to Moscow for the final
on May 21 will be English, with Chelsea beating Liverpool
and so set to join them at this exotic destination.
Though it is the first time Manchester United have reached
the final since the most recent of their two European Cup
triumphs, in 1999, Liverpool won their fifth European Cup
in 2005 and were also runners-up last year. Perhaps now its
Chelsea's turn. |
